Rapper Trina Has Made Many Career Moves Outside Of Music, But Her Most Recent Appearance On AEW Is The Most Surprising
Trina’s no spring chicken when it comes to having beef. The rapper’s had longstanding issues with “My Neck My Back” rapper Khia for some time now. However, there’s a new feud brewing for the Miami queen, and instead of taking it to the streets, Trina’s taking it to the wrestling ring. The Dade County rapper is currently trending after a fan uploaded a video of her making an appearance on AEW.
LET’S GET READY TO RUMBLE! In this corner, we have Katrina Laverne Taylor, better known as Trina. Initially chasing a career in real estate, she was propelled into the mainstream in 1998 when Trick Daddy’s single “Naan N—” was released featuring her vocals. From there, the self-proclaimed “Baddest B—” led an undoubtedly respectable career in Hip-Hop. Trina has released six albums and a plethora of mixtapes and singles. But music isn’t the only arena the Miami-born rapper has entered and conquered.
In 2003, she was cast in the film A Miami Tail in the role of “Alicia Strada.” The following year she appeared in The Cookout alongside Ja Rule, Jenifer Lewis, Meagan Good, and more. She also reappeared in the film’s sequel in 2011. Then, Trina began to enter the reality television space. After minimal appearances on Love and Hip Hop and K Michelle: My Life, she signed on to become a primary cast member on Love and Hip Hop: Miami since 2018. Also, within her career, Trina launched a fragrance and cosmetics line that has since been discontinued.
But Trina is getting ready to step into another arena, wrestling. A video clip is circulating online promoting the rapper’s upcoming appearance at the AEW Grand Slam, occurring Friday, September 23. In the video, Trina is seen alongside acclaimed wrestler Diamante as they challenge Jade Cargill and The Baddies to a battle. One soundbite that fans have taken notice of is Trina telling her opponent, “You see me now.” Rapper Cardi B highlighted that moment and shared it on her Twitter, stating that it was her “mood always.” Are you looking forward to seeing Trina in the wrestling ring?
