Dontez Williams met Myshella about seven years ago through a dating website called “Plenty of Fish”. Myshella’s daughters Abigail and Natalie were one and two years of age at that point of time. From the time Dontez had met the little girls, he was like a father to both of them. In the year 2021, the Dontez and Myshella decided to get married. Dontez felt he should do something to make the little girls feel special on his wedding day. He planned a unique and a sweet proposal script, which probably was out of place but it turned out be a pleasant surprise for Myshella, Abigail and Natalie.

After a lot of planning and thought Dontez came up with an idea of an adoption proposal for his soon going to be daughters. Dontez could have gone ahead and file for an adoption process for Abigail and Natalie. However he wanted to surprise both the girls and make the moment special and memorable for them. Dontez discussed the planned with his colleagues and they too agreed that this was great idea. During the rehearsals of wedding vows also, Dontez didn’t not say the vows he had planned to say during the wedding. He wanted to keep it a secret.

He wrote vowss for Abigail and Natalie, that he was going to read aloud during the ceremony. Writing the vows for his would be daughters was emotional process. He felt that he was meant to be their father. Dontez said, “Just the thought of me writing the vows for them, it made me want to tear up. When I felt that emotion just thinking about it, I was like, ‘I got to do this. This is the right decision. There’s no ifs, ands, or buts about it.’” At the wedding altar when Dontez began to say the vows, it got confusing for Myshella and the two little girls. But soon enough Myshella, Abigail and Natalie realized what was happening.

In his speech Dontez William recalled the days when he first met the little girls and how they have made an positive impact in his life. He said “I never knew you really do become a man when you have children. Having someone to teach, protect and provide for them, discipline them, learn from them, and support them. For all of those reasons, you have helped me become a better person. I know that I’m a father figure to you both.” Dontez asked the two girls if they would accept him as their legal father. As he continued to speak, one of the little girls was already crying. Dontez got down on his one knee and officially ask the girls if he could adopt them.

The two little angels were already in tears and they said, “Yes”, and hugged Dontez. Dontez said “Although they are not biologically mine, bl-ood could not make us any closer.” He further said “I’ll never forget the way Abigail looked at me. It was priceless,” Williams said. “It really meant a lot to me seeing her face light up.” This was just an emotional moment for the Abigail and Natalie but even for Myshella. Dontez said “Myshella was really sh-ocked, but she was happy and just thankful for me stepping up. She was really happy that I feel that way for them and said she’s grateful to have me in their lives.”
